Career Opportunities
Specialization in Computer Information Systems and Technology prepares
the student for employment in the high demand technology areas of
business data processing and computer programming and operation.
The graduate will fulfill the business needs for qualified personnel
to research, plan and evaluate current and future software and office
system requirements. Employment is available for technicians to
coordinate the development of custom software with programming staff
as well as install, test and train users on software systems including
word processing, database management, file management, printing
and communications. Technicians with a degree in Computer Information
Systems & Technology maintain and make minor repair to personal
computers and peripheral equipment.
Sophisticated computer networks have elevated communication to
a new level, allowing information to be shared and retrieved faster
than ever. Without them, commerce, transportation and communication
worldwide would come to a halt, and there would be no Internet.
Opportunities for professionals with the ability to create and maintain
those networks are expanding all across the state, the nation, and
the world. Skilled individuals will reap the benefits of an in-demand,
fast-paced, networking career.
Cisco Career Certifications are the leading industry-recognized
networking certifications. Becoming a professional at "connecting
the world together" puts you in high demand. Today's organizations
suffer from a shortage of skilled professionals to support their
network infrastructures and Internet connectivity. Graduates are
employed by some of the nations' top companies in a variety of network-related
fields, such as telecommunications, networking, internetworking
and consulting.
