Beverly Scarbrough received an
Associate Degree in the Science of Nursing in 1978 from
Grayson County Junior College in Denison, Texas, a Baccalaureate
Degree in the Science of Nursing from The University
of Texas at Arlington, Arlington, Texas in 1987. She
completed a Master of Science with a nursing major from
Texas Woman's University, Denton, Texas in 1988. She
has been certified in critical care nursing through
the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN)
for 23 years and has developed critical care preceptor
training programs at Texoma Medical Center in Denison,
Texas. Ms. Scarbrough has served in the role of the
Critical Care Unit Assistant Coordinator at TMC. Her
responsibilities included training nurses to care for
the open heart surgical client. She currently practices
as a nurse practitioner (ANP) in adult cardiovascular/pulmonary
care and is a legal nurse consultant. She has previously
taught Cardiovascular Theory, Integumentary/Trauma/Burn
Theory, and the senior level clinical, and the LVN-RN
Transition Program at North Central Texas College from
1991 - 1996. After returning to NCTC in the Spring of
2003, her teaching assignments include Complex Theory
( third level theory) and Clinical IV (fourth semester
clinical). Ms. Scarbrough is also the Student Nurses'
Association Advisor at NCTC.
