Becoming Involved in a Student Organization

Students involved in student organizations are more likely to increase their leadership skills, meet other students with similar interest, create a life-long connection with NCTC, and will have a better experience at NCTC.

There are a number of student organizations that range from service to professional, political to social, and honorary to spiritual.  Whatever your interest may be if a student organization does not currently exist, you can start you own official student organizations by completing the following steps:

  1. Contact Kim Brown for further explanation of the rules
  2. Find a full-time staff member or full-time faculty to be your advisor
  3. Have at least seven members
  4. Complete a student organization registration form
  5. Submit a constitution (sample constitution)
  6. Become active in events for all student organizations (joint fundraiser's, leadership retreats, SGA meetings, etc)
  7. Other helpful resources and forms for Student Organizations
  8. Budget Hearing Papers from SGA: Rules & Form

Officially Registered Student Organizations Fall 2007 - Summer 2008:

Student Organizations:

Official Student Organizations have boxes located in room 119 on the SGA desk.  These boxes are used by the SGA Officers and the Director of Student Life to relay messages to the organizations officers.  All student organizations have access to room 119 to use for meetings, activities, as well as work space for officers.  Room 119 can be reserved by contacting Kim Brown. Every registered student organization also has a Senator for the Student Government Association.
