Instructional
Exams are a convenience the faculty utilizes for students
who have missed the arranged test date in class. Many kinds of
testing are done with particular care to confidentiality and test
security. The Testing Center is also utilized for testing by faculty
teaching online classes. Students with disabilities also
use the Testing Center as an alternate testing site. Students
must contact the Counseling Center to sign up for instructional
exams.
THEA–
(Texas Higher Education Assessment) is the new name for the
TASP test. This test must be taken by all students (except
those who are exempt) who enroll at public colleges in Texas. The test is designed to measure the ability

and math—to do college-level course work. Students who demonstrate deficiencies in any of these
areas will be required to enroll in at least one college prep
course each semester until they are able to pass all sections
of the THEA test.
