Welcome to theTRiO Program!

The TRiO program, federally funded through the Department of Education, is designed to motivate and support students from diverse backgrounds with varied needs.

The Mission of TRiO is threefold:

  • To increase the retention rates of students who are low income and first generation or who have a documented disability.

  • To assist students with their goals toward graduation.

  • To provide academic support to program participants.

Services:

Tutoring -- Students who qualify for TRIO can receive individual tutoring with peer and professional tutors in a variety of subjects. All tutoring services are coordinated through the Student Success Center. Students must have proof that they have been accepted into the TRIO program before individual tutoring can begin.

Personal, academic, and career counseling -- TRIO Staff help students schedule classes to meet degree requirements, assist students with career goals, and provide a confidential atmosphere for students to share personal issues or problems that may be conflicting with academic goals.
