Our Early Alert Program was designed to help you target at risk students in your classes and make the Student Success Center personnel aware of these students. At risk behaviors are those behaviors that impede students' success. We have identified the following issues that could be categorized as at risk:
- Poor academic performance
- 2 or more absences
- Tardy 3 or more times
- Unprepared for class
- Financial problems
- Health concerns
- Personal concerns
- Behavior problems
- Missing class supplies
- Learning/Emotional/Physical Disability
- Other
There is an Early Alert Form located on the for Faculty and Staff Website for you to complete. There are drop down boxes, so the entire process should take less than 2 minutes.
The SSC Personnel will contact 100% of the students you refer to us. We will attempt to schedule tutoring for students, make referrals to community resources, manage behavioral issues, provide necessary accommodations, and/or help students commit to a contract of improvement.
This is an important retention strategy that we hope you will find helpful and easy to use.
Thanks!!
