How to Apply and Register for Dual Credit Courses

 


The following items must be submitted  to the  registrar’s office at any NCTC campus:

 

1.  Application - Students may submit an application to NCTC  through  ApplyTexas. Paper applications are also accepted and are available at the NCTC Registrar’s Office.

 

2.Transcript- An official high school transcript will be needed. Faxed transcripts are not permitted. 

 

3. Proof of TSI Eligibility -  Test scores from any of the following tests can be used to verify TSI eligibility: TAKS, PSAT, Plan, ACT, or SAT. If high school test scores do not meet eligibility requirements, scores from THEA or Compass tests may also be used. Contact NCTC Counseling and Testing Office for information on these tests.

 

4.    Dual Credit Registration Form is required for enrollment in dual credit course/s.   This form must  include:  course ID(s), section number(s), term code, signature of student, school administrator, and parent. Students may obtain this form from their high school counselor or the NCTC registrar’s office. NOTE: Students are required to submit a new dual credit request form each semester.

 

5. Proof of Meningitis Immunization - Vaccination must be current, within the last 5 years. Documentation of vaccination should be sent to the Registrar's Office or brought at the time of registration.

*PSAT/NMSQT- combined score of 107(Critical Reading and Math sections ONLY) with a score of 50 on the subject relevant to the course to be taken
*PLAN (a pre ACT test)- composite 23 with a 19 or higher in Mathematics or English

*Used as a waiver for Dual Credit Courses Only

**Students may receive partial exemptions for reading, writing, or math.

**Partial exemptions are granted only on tests taken on or after April 2004
