College 101

 

College 101 is required of any student who is new to NCTC, and/or anyone who wants to take the new TSI Assessment (placement testing).  This includes students with transfer work, previous college experience, or former dual credit students. Any student new to NCTC must complete College 101 prior to placement testing or enrolling in courses, and this requirement can be completed in one of the following ways:


  • In-person College 101!
  • These are offered on a weekly basis at each campus from June to mid-August, and from mid-November to to mid-December. No reservations required, and parents are also welcome to attend! Please see below for the Summer College 101 schedule, and just contact the Counseling and Testing Office at your preferred campus with any questions.

    • College 101 sessions offered every Wednesday

      starting June 11th through August 6th:
  • Flower Mound-Wednesdays from 1:00-3:00PM in Room 208

    Corinth-Wednesdays from 3:00-5:00PM in Room 213

    Gainesville-Wednesdays from 10:00AM-Noon in Room 108

    Bowie-Wednesdays from 3:00-5:00PM in Room 124

    Graham – Wednesdays from 2:30-4:30PM in the Admin. Office

  • Online College 101!
  • Access the online Orientation here. You can complete this at home, at an NCTC computer lab on campus, or anywhere else you have access to the internet. It takes at least one hour to complete the online version, and you must score 80% on the final quiz to meet your College 101/Orientation requirement and be eligible to register for classes.You can still meet with an advisor on campus to get help with your next steps after completing the online College 101!
