General Requirements

 

In addition to submitting an application for admission (ApplyTexas PDF format), the following information is required for admission to NCTC:

 

  1. Evidence of proficiency in the English language is required and can be satisfied by submitting results from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 525 on the written exam or a minimum score of 197 on the computerized exam or a minimum score of 71 on the internet exam.

  2. Official copies (in English) of complete academic records along with a general evaluation of those documents. Evaluations will be accepted from World Evaluation Services (WES) www.wes.org or International Academic Credential Evaluators, Inc. (IACEI) www.iacei.net The evaluation must indicate the applicant has completed a minimum of the equivalent of a high school education/diploma in the U.S. for admission to NCTC.

  3. Proof of sufficient financial support to remain enrolled at North Central Texas College to complete degree requirements. Proof of sufficient funds, in U.S. currency. Students must submit an official affidavit of support and submit an official bank statement and a letter from the person responsible for providing the financial support. Students MUST submit an official Affidavit of Support (click HERE for copy of form in PDF format).

  4. All international students are required to take the Official THEA once they arrive in the U.S.

  5. All international students will be required to complete at least 12 semester credit hours each Fall and Spring semester in order to remain in good standing with the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services, (formerly I.N.S.) At least nine of the 12 semester credit hours must be courses with direct classroom attendance.

  6. Students must submit a list of any dependents who will be accompanying the student to the United States. (Click HERE for PDF document: International Student Checklist.)

  7. Full-time international students MUST register for courses each semester directly with the International Student Advisor located on the Gainesville Campus.

  8. Full-time international students MUST first meet with the International Student Advisor on the Gainesville Campus prior to withdrawing from any courses.
