Debbie Huffman came to NCTC in September 1993 as Executive Secretary to the President. After earning two Associate of Applied Sciences degrees at NCTC (Office Administration and Computer Information Technology), she moved to the Information Services Department where she was Team Manager over user support, software, and applications for four years.
In 2001 Debbie became full-time faculty in the Business and Information Technology Department where she taught Office Systems Technology and Computer Information Technology courses.
In January 2005, Debbie became Director of e-Learning and in September 2009 Dean of eLearning. Debbie is responsible for overseeing the continued growth and development of e-learning opportunities at North Central Texas College and ensuring continuous improvement in all aspects of the student's e-learning experience. Debbie serves on various College committees.
Debbie's educational credentials include a Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences in the field of Applied Technology and Performance Improvement from the University of North Texas and a Master of Science in the field of Computer Education and Cognitive Systems with a specialization in Instructional Systems Design. She is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
Debbie is currently a member of several professional organizations including Texas Distance Learning Association (TxDLA), Instructional Technology Council (ITC), and the Texas Community College Teacher's Association (TCCTA). She has served on the Distance Learning Advisory Committee of the Texas Association of Community Colleges.
She lives with her husband in rural Cooke County. She also has a daughter, son-in-law, and two grandsons that live near by and a son in Breckenridge, CO. Debbie enjoys reading, music, playing the piano, & traveling.
