Dr. Brent Wallace arrived at NCTC in August 2011 as Vice President of Instruction and Chief Academic Officer.  Brent has spent the last 20 years in Abilene, Texas where is attended high school and college.  In high school Brent excelled in academics serving as the President of the National Honor Society.  After graduating Brent attended Hardin Simmons University, receiving multiple business scholarships and graduating with a Bachelor in Business Administration Degree in Marketing. 

Upon completion of his undergraduate degree, Brent began a career in business where he ultimately became a manager and buyer for a large furniture company in Abilene, Texas.  Brent then attended Abilene Christian University where he completed a Master of Arts in Human Communication and graduate certifications in conflict resolution and specifically family mediation.  During this time Brent accepted a position as the Assistant to the Dean of the Patty Hanks Shelton School of Nursing, a consortium of Abilene Christian University, Hardin Simmons University and McMurry University.  After a year, he was promoted to the Director of Student Services, serving all three universities nursing students and managing four offices while pursuing a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Texas Tech University, which he completed in 2010.

Dr. Wallace left Patty Hanks Shelton to become the Chair of Business Management and Administration at Cisco College.  After three years as Chair he was promoted to Dean of Instruction where he served as administrator of all academics and multiple technical programs.  Brent’s teaching experiences include both academic and technical education.

Dr. Wallace comes to NCTC with a research background in conflict and strategic planning in higher education.  He has been a presenter at state and national higher education conferences and in a member of multiple state higher education groups including the Texas Community College Instructional Administrators, the Texas Community College Teacher Association, and the Texas Community College Instructor Leaders to name a few.
