Access Databases From An Off-Campus Location

Most of the electronic databases available can be accessed off-campus by NCTC students and faculty through the internet.

After reading the following instructions, take the link at the bottom of the page:

Step 1: Go to the NCTC Library/LRC Home Page

Step 2: In the Left Navigation Bar, find DATABASES and Select Off-Campus Access

Step 3: At the Proxy Authorization Screen, enter your username (assigned network
account) and your password (the same one you use for the NCTC Computer Labs).

When you use the Angel Account to access the databases from off campus, if you have changed that password, you must use the original password you were given (Social Security number with no dashes) to log into the off-campus databases on the library website. However, if your Social Security number begins with a zero, you do not enter the zero but begin the password with the next number.

Step 4: Select Submit Query.

Step 5:  Select the database you wish to search.

You should not have any problem when using the password for your network account (the one used to log into the computers on campus), even if you have changed that password but if you do have problems with getting into the databases you may call the Computer Help Desk at (940) 668-4284 between 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

Go to the NCTC Library/LRC HomePage now.
