WORKFORCE TRAINING (CORINTH CAMPUS)

            Fast-track computer courses are designed for the busy individual who seeks to learn a Microsoft Office application in a day-long class.  This semester, we have added a class spanning several weeks (Fridays) which entails comprehensive training on Word, Excel, Access PowerPoint and Publisher.  This provides an easy and affordable solution to employers to get their employees trained in these skills, with a minimum time away from the job.  Special note:  This is fast-track class, so you should be prepared to progress quickly in the curriculum.  Prerequisites:  Prior level courses for intermediate and advanced topics, or appropriate scores on assessment to waive entry level courses.

 

Microsoft Office 2010 Essentials

This is an excellent survey of Office 2010 for introductory-level students. This course provides an in-depth look at computer concepts and the Office 2010 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access) and basic information applying to computer operations and file management. Learn the necessary skills to begin effectively using the Microsoft Office suite. Textbook Required: Microsoft Office 2010 Essentials. Instructor: TDB. (56 hrs)

Excel Specialist Series

Develop and expand your ability to turn data into information using the most popular spreadsheet program ever - Microsoft Excel. Take control of your workbook and manage the data providing more timely access to the information.  Whether you already use Excel or you want to transition into a job that demands this knowledge, this three-course program prepares you to use Excel to its fullest potential, and could even prepare you for the Microsoft certification exam. Textbook required: Microsoft Excel Comprehensive. Instructor: TDB. (28 hrs)

Word Specialist Series

You’ll get extensive training of Word 2010, beginning with introductory and working through the advanced topics.  Ideal for the computer user wanting to become well versed in using Word 2010. Topics include the Ribbon interface, using proofreading tools, creating bulleted and numbered lists, tables and forms, newsletter columns, WordArt and clip art, document themes, styles, picture editing, Mail Merge, footnotes and endnotes, headers and footers, templates, tables of contents and indexes, tracking changes, macros, digital signatures, customization options, and more. Textbook required: Microsoft Word Comprehensive. Instructor: TDB. (28 hrs)

PowerPoint Specialist Series

Learn PowerPoint from the beginning to the end!  Begin with the basics of creating a presentation and add clip art, animation, sound, charts, multimedia, tables, themes, and slide masters.  Learn to collaborate as you develop your presentation, and how to transfer the final presentation onto the Internet. Textbook required: Microsoft PowerPoint Comprehensive. Instructor: TDB. (21 hrs)
