GED GENERAL PREPARATION
Obtaining your General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is one of the smartest decisions an adult can make. Regardless of why high school did not pan out, this "second chance" to pursue academic and/or career training helps not only you, but the economy as a whole. That's why our program offers Comprehensive and Fast Track Courses to assist in preparation for the GED exams.
What is the GED?
The
GED is the General Equivalency Diploma, comparable to a standard High
School Diploma. All institutions of higher education accept the GED as
substitute for the High School Diploma. The GED exams are taken in five
areas: reading, writing, math, social studies, and science.
Note: the State of Texas is revising the GED exam rules and regulations in the Fall of 2013. Test-takers will not be able to sit for individual examinations, but must take the entire exam (all five subject areas) in one sitting. Spring 2013 may be the last chance to take individual tests. Please note that all rules and regulations are subject to change and this information is provided as a courtesy only, and is not guaranteed.

four to six times per year. Registering for the exam follows strict
rules, so click here to learn more.
What will I learn in these classes?
Our
classes teach test taking strategies, tricks for reading
comprehension, elimination techniques, and tutoring in areas where the
student demonstrates struggle.
Is there financial help for preparation?
Those between the ages of 18 to 25 and who dropped out of a Texas high school can receive help through the Drop Out Recovery and Career Pathways Grants. Otherwise, you might be eligible for the MATRIX Grant. Payment plans are available to assist in paying for the course.
How old must I be to take the GED Exams?
You must be 18 or older. You can take it at 17 if you have parental consent or by judicial order.
