Lifelong Learning is now offering an exclusive membership opportunity to residents of Cooke County who are ages 62 and better. ORIENTATION (you can come by at any time it's convenient for you, too)
Learn about the program, register for participation, pay the $25.00 fee, and enroll in all the classes you wish to take!

* Proof of residency in Cooke County (utility bill, mortgage, or rent receipt in student’s name)

* Completed registration form (you will get this at the Orientation Meeting, see above)

Learn painting techniques with chalk paint. You will create your own piece to take home, courtesy of the Old White Barn in Gainesville (940) 668-8889. Please wear clothes that you can paint in. Class is held at the Old White Barn in Gainesville. (2 hrs)

This class will explore world changes that occurred due to WWI. (8 hrs)

AARP: DECIDE, CREATE, SHARE - NEW
AARP's Decide-Create-Share campaign is designed to help women in their 40s, 50s and 60s take steps today so they will be adequately prepared for a safe, healthy and secure tomorrow. (2 hrs)

You never know when you may have to save someone’s life, be prepared! For $15 you will get: Heart Saver CPR, first aid and AED certification from the American Heart Association that is valid for two years. Bring wrapping paper, ribbon and any other items you would like to use to jazz up a boring gift  box  with simple and fun techniques! (2 hrs)

COOKING FOR ONE OR TWO
We will be demonstrating how we can take  a one meat recipe and re-invent the protein into another whole meal by changing the ingredients.  This also helps save preparation time. A HISTORY OF WARS - NEW
Mr. Robert Fuhrmann, a local historian, will bring one of his popular dioramas that he has created by constructing buildings, painting figures, and sculpturing hills and mountains out of styrofoam. He will cover the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Mexican-American War and the Civil War. Class will be held at Pecan Creek Village in Gainesville. (2 hrs)

WARS OF AMERICAN INVOLVEMENT - NEW
Mr. Robert Fuhrmann, a popular local historian, will cover the wars America has been involved in world-wide. He will also teach us history lessons touching on other European and Middle Eastern wars. (Will not bring dioramas to this class.) Class will be held at Pecan Creek Village in  Gainesville. (2 hrs)
