Clinical Medical Assisting

 

Learn medical terminology, phlebotomy, EKG, wound care, vital signs, sterile technology, medical procedures, OSHA guidelines, and more in this 340 hour class that includes 160 hours of externship. Our classes are taught by seasoned, professional nurses and lab technicians who are actively working in the health care industry. Tuition includes textbooks, materials, CPR, and NHA testing fees for CMA, Phlebotomy, and EKG. You must find your own externship site (lists and insurance provided). Scrubs are required but are not included in the course fee. You may need to extern at several sites to get the experience you need. (180 hrs lecture + 160 hrs externship).

 

•  Age Requirements:  18+ at registration

  Education:  High School Diploma or GED

  Must pass Criminal Background check

  Must pass basic reading , math and advanced math assessments

  Must show proof of Immunizations

  Must sign Consent Form

 


Program includes the following course sequence:


MDCA 1060 Clinical Medical Assisting

Infection control, safety measures, techniques, terminology, ethics, wound care. (70 hrs)

ECRD 1091 EKG/ Telemetry

Using heart monitoring equipment, results (50 hrs)

PLAB 1023 Phlebotomy

Venipuncture, capillary puncture on adults; specimen collection, infection control (60 hrs)

MDCA 1064 Externship

Field experience to implement techniques learned in the classroom. (160 hrs)

 

HEA 5001 CPR for Healthcare Providers
