ITSC 1025 Personal Computer Hardware

Assembly, set up, and upgrade of PC systems; diagnose and isolate faulty components; optimize system performance; install/connect peripherals. Textbook not included in fee. (3 Credit Hours)

 

ITNW 1008 Implementing and Supporting Client Operating Systems

Installation and configuration of network; user set up; groups, policies, profiles, hardware configuration, logon security and peripheral security; configure and optimize clients in multiple environments. Textbook not included in fee. (3 Credit Hours)

ITSC 1016 Linux Installation and Configuration

Install, administer, and manage a Linux system; demonstrate proficiency with Linux utilities, commands, and applications; identify and resolve security-based issues; integrate a Linux system into an existing network; support Network Server Infrastructure. ITNW 1053 Supporting Network Server Infrastructure

Install and configure DHCP, DNS, remote access, and network security using public key infrastructure; integrate network services; deploy operating systems using remote installation services. Textbook not included in course fee. (3 Credit Hours)

 

ITSY 1000 Fundamentals of Information Security

Outline best practices for the information security goals of confidentiality, integrity and availablity; explain ethical practices; define vocabulary/terminology related to information security; explain the importance of planning and administrative controls; identify security threats, vulnerabilities, and countermeasures; identify procedures for security risk management. Textbook not included in course fee. (3 Credit Hours)

 

ITSY 1042 Information Technology Security

Employ the physical security of network infrastructure components using National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Guidelines and other best practices; develop backup procedures to provide for data security; use network operating system features to implement network security; identify computer and network threats and vulnerabilities and methods to prevent their effects; use tools to enhance network security; use encryption techniques to protect network data. ITNW 1054 Implementing and Supporting Server Environment

Configure peripherals and devices; set up servers; configure directory replication; manage licensing; create and manage system policies and profiles; administer remote servers and disk resources; create and share resources; implement fault tolerance; configure servers for interoperability; install and configure Remote Access Service (RAS); identify and monitor performance bottlenecks; resolve configuration problems.
