Books

The Library carries many books that contain critiques of important authors and their works. The Library uses the Library of Congress classification system to shelve books by their subject.

Many short story criticism books can be found in the PN or PS sections of the library.

Use the Library Catalog to search by subject using the author's name (last name, first name). For example, enter "king, stephen" and select subject to search for books about the author Stephen King or his writings.

Reference books are highly recommended starting points for short story criticism. The following are recommended references provided by NCTC Libraries:

    Critical Survey of Short Fiction

Facts on File Companion to the American Short Story
