The primary mission of the North Central Texas College Libraries is to support the instructional programs and institutional goals of North Central Texas College. NCTC Libraries strive to provide resources and services that stimulate intellectual curiosity and facilitate learning and research within the academic community. NCTC Libraries are dedicated to assisting students, faculty, and community members in meeting and exceeding their educational, instructional, professional, and life-enriching goals.
NCTC Libraries provide over 45,000 items across five campuses to serve the research needs of students, faculty, and staff. Many of these materials, including media items, may be checked out for a period of time for use outside the library.
Circulating Books and CDs check out for 3 weeks during the Fall and
Spring semesters, and 1 week during Summer semesters for students, and 3
weeks year round for faculty, staff, and community users.
NCTC Libraries do charge fines on overdue materials: $0.10 per day per item on books, $0.25 cents per period per item on Reserve materials, $1.00 per day per item on media items. Lost and damaged materials are assessed a $10.00 processing fee.
Students may have up to a total of 10 items checked out on their
record, including only one media item. Community users may have up to 3 items checked out on their record, including only one media item.

Instructors often place special materials on reserve for use in their coursework. Reserve materials are kept at the circulation desk of each campus library. To find Reserve Materials in the online catalog, go to the Reserve Desk link at the top of the screen. Here you may search for reserve materials by instructor name, course number, or course name. NCTC Libraries participate in the TexShare Card program. With a TexShare Card, users can borrow materials directly from participating institutions (such as the University of North Texas and Texas Woman's University). In most cases, users need only present their current TexShare Card and a photo ID. TexShare Cards are provided only to NCTC faculty, staff, and students in good standing (i.e. no current fines, lost materials, etc.).
To obtain a TexShare card, qualified users must inquire at their NCTC campus Library and present current photo ID.
