Using Track-It
The link to Track-It can be found at the top of the Information Systems web page or by typing "computer" (no quotes) in the address bar of the browser (when on campus).

Log in to Track-It now

Create a work order in Track-it:
  • Click on Work Orders in the menu bar.
  • Click "Add New Work Order" to open a new work order
  • Enter a short summary of the problem in the Summary field..
  • Enter a phone number that the technician can reach you at during business hours
  • Select the Priority, Work Order Type, Sub-Type, and Category from the options in the drop down lists based on the type of action required.
  • Click on requested completion date/priority level
  • Describe the problme or request in more detail in the Description field.
  • If you want to include a screen capture, document, or anything else that may help explain your problem, click the Browse button to locate the file that you want to attach.
  • Click the Submit button to create a new work order in the system. A Request Confirmation displays to confirm receipt of the work order and provide the work order number

Troubleshooting Track-It:
Be sure that you do not have pop-ups blocked in your browser
  • In Internet Explorer go to Tools, Internet Options, Privacy Tab and enter nctc.edu as a safe site to accept pop-ups from
  • If there is an feature tool bar added to Internet Explorer (ie: Google or Yahoo) be sure to make changes there as well so that pop-ups are allowed
  • hold down the "Control key" when you click the link, this will bypass a pop up blocker.
"Page not found" error message
  • Be sure you are using Internet Explorer to access Track-It
  • In IE go to Tools, Internet Options, and on the General Tab, click the "Delete Cookies" and "Delete Files" buttons.
  • Close IE and try logging into Track-it again
Access denied
  • Check your user name, be sure to preceed your name with nctc\ and check the direction of the slash, use the slash key over the "enter key"
  • If you are still unable to submit a ticket, call the Help Desk at ext. 4284.

View Work Order Request:

From your Track-It Screen you can also view and edit your existing work orders using the Manage Your Work Order option.
