SETTING UP OUTLOOK:
Set up Outlook only at your workstation, when not at your workstation, use Outlook WebMail do not set up Outlook on multiple computers.
How to check NCTC email when not at your workstation
To set up Outlook on your NCTC computer:
1. >Click on the Start Button > Programs > Microsoft Office > Microsoft Office Outlook, this will bring up the Outlook Startup Wizard > Follow these steps through the Wizard.
Occasionally Outlook will pick up user settings from your NCTC profile and complete some of the 'blanks' for you.
a. Click "Next"
b. When asked "Would you like to configure an email account?" Answer: Yes
c. Select the Microsoft Exchanger Server option
d. The Server name is "mail" (no quotes), type this in the appropriate line
e. Enter your user name (same as when you log onto the computer) and be sure to click on the “Check Name” button
f. Click "Next"
g. Click "Finish"
Outlook will open, it may take a few minutes to pull up your emails and other information
ADDITIONAL OUTLOOK FEATURES
How to view the email address of a sender: If the sender’s email address does not display next to their name
- Open the email in question and in the top portion right mouse click on the name in the “From:” field
- Scroll down to “Outlook Properties”
The sender’s email address will be displayed in the “Email Address” field
You can copy the address and when following the steps above at the point of entering the email address to be “unblocked” paste the address into the requested field.
How do I add a closing "signature" to my emails?
In Outlook, select the Tools > click Options > click Mail Format tab

> Click on the Signatures button
> Click on New

> Enter a name that identifies this signature set up
> Click Next

> Enter information for your signature
> Preview information and click Okay

> Select Signature option
> Set Signature to be included for new messages and if desired set signature to be included on all replies and forwarded messages
> Click okay
