| NCTC students receive network accounts during semesters they are currently enrolled in:
NCTC student accounts allow:
- ability to log onto campus computers
- access to their personal networked student drive for storage of homework files (retaining copies of files on flash or usb drives is recommended)
- use of software installed on NCTC network (note: all software is not available in all labs)
- access to the Internet
NCTC network accounts do not provide email accounts for students.
Students can aquire free email accounts through Hotmail or Yahoo
Student accounts are deleted at the end of each semester. Files stored in NCTC student accounts will be removed at the end of each semester. It is recommended that students wanting to retain any files stored on the NCTC network, copy those files to a flash or usb drive before the end of each semester.
How to store data on your NCTC network student drive
Do not download or install any chat and/or Instant
Messenger software on NCTC computers.
You are responsible for all activity on your account. User accounts may NOT be shared under any circumstances. Allowing
another person to a student account, whether they are a student
or not, will result in computer privileges being suspended
for the remainder of the current semester. Student accounts
are for that student's use only. No business activity of any
kind is allowed. Any use of college facilities for illegal
activities is strictly prohibited. Please read the NCTC
Rules for Appropriate Use of Information Resources.
