MyNCTC

Logins for MyNCTC -- students: NetID with 9-digits Student ID as password

Logins for MyNCTC -- employees: NetID and password as provided by Human Resources/Technology Help Desk

MyNCTC for students provides access to:

Registration information, student schedules, student email, library databases and much more

MyNCTC for employees provides access to employee resources, POISE, forms, forums etc AND their student data if they attended NCTC as a student

MyNCTC for faculty provides access to employee resources and to instructor pages for posting syllabi & VITA information

   
Network Login & Drive Information

Network login:

NCTC employee USER NAME/IDs are: the first initial of the first name and full last name (on occasion duplicate user names are differentiated by use of the middle initial)
John Smith's user ID would be: jsmith

User ID's and passwords for network users are sent to new employees when accounts are created. New employess will receive an email from the Information Services Department with their user ID and other login information. This email is sent to the email address provided by the user to their supervisor. If you have not received this information, contact kroos@nctc.edu

To change your network/email password:

When on campus:

log onto one of the college computers, then press Ctrl-Alt-Del and follow directions in Windows Security dialog box.

When off campus:

Use the browser, Internet Explorer, log into your NCTC WebMail and click on the Options menu, then click on the “Change Password” option.

Network Drive Information:

NCTC employees are provided a network drive, H: for storage of work related materials. This drive is available to users from any NCTC networked computer. This drive is NOT available through NCTC WiFi.

New User Account Requests

Supervisors can request new technology accounts for new hires, reactivations for returning adjuncts or for workstudies using the forms below.

POISE/Skylite

Login names are determined by the type of use of POISE that is needed. There is a three letter prefix to POISE user IDs, followed by the user's first initial and last name up to twelve characthers.

DRS_JSMITH or for long name DRS_JSMITHSO

POISE accounts are generated by the Information Services Department.

POISE access to budgets is granted by the Business Office, dps@nctc.edu

Shoretel is the software package used to manage NCTC phone systems

Shoretel Features: Caller ID, Caller History, Campus Directory, Out of Office and other Voice Mail Greeting options, Call Forwarding, Voice Mail messages available from any phone on campus and off.

DETAILED 'HOW TO'S' FOR SHORETEL CALL MANAGER

Call Manager Quick Reference (Dial In) - for use when off campus or away from your workstation. Dial in to listen to voice mail messages, change greeting or voice mail settings.

To dial off campus number, press 9

Logging into Shoretel when out of your office:

OnCampus but away from your desk:
Press the pound key twice (##)

enter your extension number

the voice prompt will ask you to enter your voice mail password and press # - follow voice prompts (use Call Manager User Guide)

Off Campus:

dial 940-668-3399 or 940-498-6299

press the pound key (#) during the greeting

When prompted, enter your extension number and voice mail password (default PIN is 1234) - follow voice prompts (use Call Manager User Guide)

 

 

 

   
Student Information

Students receive an email from the Admissions office once their application has been processed.

This email contains their Student ID number, Web PIN, NetID and student email address.

Students may also contact the NCTC Technology Help Desk for this information

Students access the network and MyNCTC using their NetID and 9-digit Student ID as their password

Students access Angel using their NetID and 9-digits Student ID as their initial password, Angel will prompt them to change their password when they first log in. This changes does NOT change their NCTC network, email or MyNCTC password.

Students are responsible for activating their NCTC email.

MyNCTC is the central location for student activities, for registering, viewing/printing schedules, activating student email, signing up for Lion Alerts

Technology Workorders & Help

For immediate assistance in the classroom, contact the Help Desk at 940.668.4284. This number rings to the next availabe staff member and during Spring/Fall semesters is answered Mon - Thurs from 7:30 a.m. until 8 p.m., Fridays from 7:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.

WiFi access to the Internet is available on NCTC campuses for current students and employees only

To log into WiFi: Use your NetID and network password

WiFi does not provide access to the NCTC network resources or network drives. Student/employee H drives are not accessible through NCTC WiFi
