NCTC
Students
All NCTC currently enrolled students are provided network accounts each
semester. Student accounts allow the student to access the Internet
and use all software installed on the NCTC network; however, all
software is not available in all labs ( Campus
Software ).
Student accounts are deleted
at the end of each long semester and at the end of Summer II.
It is recommended that you save any files you want to keep at
the end of each semester.
You
are responsible for all activity on your account. User accounts
may NOT be shared under any circumstances. Allowing
another person to use your account, whether they are a student
or not, will result in your computer privileges being suspended
for the remainder of the current semester. Your student account
is for your personal use only. No business activity of any kind
is allowed. Any use of college facilities for illegal activities
is strictly prohibited. Please read the Authorized
Use of Campus Intranet and Computing Resources information.
Faculty
& Staff
All full-time faculty and
staff are provided network accounts. Accounts must be
requested by the employee's supervisor. Accounts should be requested
by submitting a ticket through Track-It and completing the new user request form.
It
is the responsibility of the employee's supervisor to notify the
IS Department upon employee's termination so all accounts may
be disabled.
Non-Student/Non-Staff
Non-student and non-staff accounts are prohibited by our license
agreement with THENET.
E-mail
Email accounts
are provided to all faculty and full-time staff. Effective Fall
2000, e-mail accounts are no longer provided to students. It is recommended that students acquire e-mail accounts
through Hotmail, Yahoo, or any other web based mail utility.
POISE
(Administrative System)
Requests for POISE accounts
must be submitted by the employee's supervisor. All requests should
be submitted through Track-It (web based help desk). You
must specify what type of account is being requested (i.e., DPS,
DRS, etc.).
