Network drives are backed up every night however restorations from these back ups can be time consuming. the use of flash or usb drives to store important files is highly recommended.
Personal drives are identified as the "H:" drive
Department folders are on the "J:" drive, permissions granted to individual users by their supervisors allow for access to the appropriate drive.
Student accounts are deleted at the end of each semester.
Files stored in NCTC student accounts will be removed at the end of each semester. To retain any files stored on the NCTC network, copy those files to a flash or usb drive before the end of each semester.

(A:) Drive - 3.25 Diskette
(C:) local machine. Do not store any information on NCTC local (C:) drives. This information is only available from that computer. Local drives are not backed up.

H:\ Personal Directory on Network Server this is where personal data is stored.
Student accounts are deleted at the end of each semester. Files left on student drives will be deleted when the accounts are removed. Students should copy files they do not want deleted from their student directory to a flash or usb drive before the end of each semester. |
K:\ Instructors only
J:\ or Course directory for Students and is shared by faculty and students. This is where faculty place material for students to access on the network.

| J:\ Drive for employees contains department folders on Network Server. The DEPARTMENT folder is shared only by employees of that department and cannot be accessed or viewed by anyone outside that department. If you delete data here, it is deleted it for everyone in that Department |
J:\ Drive\Common Folder on the is shared by faculty and staff. It is used for storage of forms, graphics, etc., that NCTC employees need access to.
