Aesthetics



The Aesthetician program provides in-depth coverage of the theory and practice of skin care, treatments and  products.  Students will gain the knowledge and skills required in the health and beauty industry. The classes include basic skin care,and facials to advanced facial techniques such as chemical peels, make-up applications, microdermabrasion, and other spa related treatments such as waxing, and lash extensions.

 

Classes are held from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Thursday and Fridays 8am to 3pm.   First semester students attend Wednesday, Thursday and Friday each week.    Second semester students attend Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week.

 

A modern learning environment with all the latest equipment is provided for lab instruction and client services. During various times of study, we offer field trips to salons, esthetic shows, and other educational events. Students attend the International Congress of Aesthetics held in Dallas each Spring.

 

 

A total of 22 credit hours and 750 contact hours are required to complete this program and it requires approximately 32 weeks. The student is then prepared to take the licensing exam required by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to become an Aesthetician. 

 

A broad range of career opportunities exist for the professional aesthetician from employment in spas, salons and/or health and wellness centers, to product representatives or skin consultants working in conjunction with dermatologists. The entrepreneurial aesthetician is often self-employed or employed on a consulting basis in a wide range of settings.

 

Students accept clients by appointment or as a walk-in, if time permits. Call for a list of available services and pricing.
