Dr. Hadlock's career in education includes two years
of public school teaching and 25-plus years of community
college teaching and administration. At North Central
Texas College he has served in virtually every area
of college operations. In addition to part-time teaching
assignments -- one academic (psychology) and one technical
(electronic spreadsheets) and a staff assignment as
vocational counselor, he has served in all the following
administrative positions: Director of Counseling &
Testing, Associate Dean of Instruction for Continuing
Education, Director of Admissions/Registrar, Dean of
Student Services, Dean of Arts & Sciences, Vice President of Instruction, Interim President and President.
Educational credentials include the following degrees:
Bachelor of Science, Hardin-Simmons University, 1967;
Master of Education, East Texas State University, 1971;
and the Doctor of Education, East Texas State University,
1974. Prior to completing his undergraduate degree he
knew that he wanted to work in a college setting in
some capacity. After completing his military obligation
with the United States Navy he began his graduate work
which included a minor in community college education.
Memberships in professional organizations have included:
Texas Association of Community College Chief Student
Affairs Administrators, past president; Texas Community
College Teachers Association; Texas Association of Collegiate
Registrars and Admissions Officers; and the Texas Community
College Instructional Administrators. In addition, he
has served as a Reaffirmation Committee member for the
Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. As a committee
member he has participated in reaffirmation visits to
14 different community colleges across the country.
His civic and service activities include the following:
Cooke County Campfire Board of Directors, past president;
Edison School PTA, past president; Gainesville Kiwanis,
past president; Gainesville ISD Educational Excellence
Committee, bond election treasurer; and Gainesville
Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, chairman
1997.
Eddie and his wife Donna are the proud grandparents of Ashton, age 5, and Zander, 20 months.
