NCTC Corinth Campus

Meet the Vice President of Instruction and Campus Dean

INTRODUCTION

For over three decades, North Central Texas College has been responding to the education and training needs of Denton County citizens—bridging the gap between programs and services offered by local high schools and Denton's two universities.  Denton County, in fact, is a part of NCTC's statutorily-designated service area, which also includes Cooke and Montague counties. With the opening of the Corinth Campus in January 2000, NCTC demonstrated its commitment to fulfill its role as a comprehensive public community college and today boasts an enrollment of over 6,000 students system-wide.

WHO ATTENDS THE CORINTH CAMPUS?

Don't look for a "typical" community college student at NCTC.  Students of all ages and with different educational goals find that the NCTC Corinth Campus is able to meet their needs.  Many of our students complete their freshman and sophomore-level course work at NCTC then transfer to a 4-year college or university.  Other students complete an Associate of Applied Sciences Degree or Certificate and directly enter the workforce as nurses, surgical technologists, EMS paramedics, computer network engineers and many other kinds of trained professionals.

EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES AT THE CORINTH CAMPUS

A full range of courses for college credit and for continuing education units are offered on the Corinth Campus.  In fact, students in most academic majors can complete all associate degree requirements at Corinth.  While all students can access vocational degree and certificate programs at any NCTC campus, the following are based or offered on the Corinth Campus:

In addition, students may complete the General Education Core Curriculum for a transfer-based associate degree.  Courses in written and oral communications, mathematics, science, visual and performing arts, humanities/literature, history, government, social science, behavioral science/cultural awareness, and wellness/physical education are available at the Corinth Campus.  To help students prepare for college-level coursework, the College Preparatory Studies Department offers classes in reading, writing and arithmetic that reviews fundamental concepts at whatever level is needed by a student.  The Developmental Studies Department also provides a Learning Center with free tutoring in an atmosphere that nurtures academic growth.

CORINTH CAMPUS INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS PLANS & REPORTS

NCTC's institutional effectiveness model allows for annual goal setting, assessment and consideration of achievements. Listed below are links to the Corinth Campus IE models for the past several years:

PHYSICAL FACILITIES & HOW TO FIND US

Located just off Interstate-35E in the rapidly growing City of Corinth, the campus is easily accessible from all directions.
(Click here for a map and driving directions.) Housed in a modern three-story, 75,000-square-foot building—NCTC–Corinth has the capacity to accommodate 6,000 students, and the student population at the Corinth Campus currently numbers more than 4,000.  The building first opened with only the first two floors completed in Phase I.  Phase II—completion of the third floor—doubled the instructional capacity of the campus and opened in the fall of 2002.  (For more photos of the campus, click Phototours.) Additional buildings are being planned for future construction.  The administration fully anticipates to enroll 12,000 or more students on the Corinth Campus over the next several years.
