  Maribeth Baxter Gipson first came to the NCTC/Small Business Development Center in January of 2002. Gipson planned to start her own business, Office Solutions, a business service that would offer bookkeeping, brochure and logo development, web pages, and basic office support services.

Gipson came to the SBDC for information on marketing and pricing Office Solution services. SBDC Director and Certified Business Development Specialist, Cathy Keeler, reviewed the ideas and materials Gipson brought. Keeler recommended that Gipson develop a business plan and feasibility study to help identify Office Solution's strengths, weaknesses, and help Gipson stay on track towards her business goals.

Keeler also assisted Gipson with the detailed process of determining pricing, legal issues concerning the hiring and management of employees, and pointed out several additional services that could be offered by Office Solutions.

Office Solutions continues to grow and has expanded its services to include mail merges, bulk mail processing, training, logistic assistance for seminars and much more. Gipson continues to use the SBDC as a resource for information and has participated in several SBDC online courses.
