Signing with Babies for Mommies and Daycare Workers
Bring your baby if you want for this relaxed classroom setting, designed for parents or guardians, childcare workers and babysitters. Bring baby (ages 6 to 18 months) and learn basic signing to improve communication. Teach your baby and learn at the same time. Tantrums and frustrating communication breakdowns occur because infants don’t know how to express themselves. Signing gives children an effective way to communicate long before verbal skills are developed. Research has shown that babies who sign progress in language development at an early age. They later display higher IQ scores than their non-signing peers. Class will be held on floor mats in the NCTC Fitness center. Teen babysitters (ages 14-17) may attend with or without a baby in attendance. Class is also designed to provide CEU credits for childcare workers. Optional: bring baby carrier or jumper chair for convenience. (6 hours)
