IRS TAX WORKSHOP FOR SMALL BUSINESSES

IRS representative will explain basic tax requirements affecting your business, including: adequate record keeping, advantages & disadvantages of sole proprietorship, partnership, and corporations. Learn how to determine the net profit or loss of your business; identifying deductible business expenses; employment tax regulations, a review of federal tax regulations and federal tax deposit (FTD)

LEAN MANUFACTURING AND THE "5-S'S" OF WORKPLACE IMPROVEMENT

This New 1-Day interactive workplace simulation demonstrates the cost and labor efficiencies available by eliminating waste through implementing several "Lean Manufacturing" principles.   Participants begin by manufacturing "airplanes" in a traditional manufacturing setting.   The results of the first simulation round provide the setting for continuous improvement applying lean manufacturing principles.

Participants apply the concepts of cellular layout, batch size reduction, kan-ban inventory management, cross-training and line-balancing.   In addition, attendees will learn how to eliminate cost and time to the products and services delivered to customers...The "5-S"

(Sort, Set-In-Order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain) Workplace improvement principles discussed here are simple yet highly effective set of techniques to remove waste from the work environment through better workplace organization, visual communication and general cleanliness.   (No previous experience is required - Course is a mix of

2nd Tuesday of each month at the Denton Chamber of Commerce

7:15 AM for registration and a 7:30 start time (Continental breakfast included)
NCTC/SBDC Business Networking Breakfast
Join fellow business persons the second Tuesday morning of every month, at the Denton Chamber of Commerce, for an informative meeting and an opportunity to network with other businesses. Guest speakers will present a variety of pertinent business topics. Participants may also sign up for an opportunity to present their business in a three minute commercial during a future meeting. There is plenty of interaction time and a promotional table to put your fliers, brochures, and business cards.
