Registration: Now open and continuing throughout the fall months.
Registration
for all courses is required no later than 6 days prior to the first
class meeting. Remember that early response can prevent cancellation
of a class.
PAYMENT
FOR ALL COURSES IS DUE IN FULL AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION
Students
may select the option of utilizing either walk-in, mail-in, fax
or telephone registration to enroll in the course of their choice.

Books
and Supplies
Refer
to the course description to determine if additional supplies or
books are required for a course. In most cases, these items are
not included as part of the class tuition.
Eligibility
for Enrollment
Continuing
education courses at NCTC are open to individuals who are 18 years
of age or older unless otherwise noted. Prerequisite requirements
are listed along with the detailing course descriptions.
Class
Cancellation
Please
check our website at http://www.nctc.edu/Continuing_education/contined_main.html for updated information on courses that are at maximum
capacity or have been cancelled due to insufficient enrollment or contact the Lifelong Learning office prior to your course start date.
Certificates
of Completion
A
Certificate of Completion and/or an official college transcript
displaying continuing education units (CEU's) will be issued upon
request to students who have completed community education courses
and successfully meet skill or competency requirements.

Dropping
a Class
To drop a class, the Division of Lifelong Learning must be notified at least seven business days prior to the first scheduled class meeting. In the event that this procedure is followed, 100% of the course fee will be refunded. Tuition and fees paid directly to the institution by a sponsor, donor, employer, or scholarship shall be refunded based on the terms stipulated by the funding source. EXCEPTIONS TO THIS POLICY: 1) Tickets or other materials were required to be pre-purchased in order to deliver the course per stated learning outcomes; or 2) Tuition covers the comprehensive tuition for a long-term educational track that mandates maintenance of a minimum number of students and for which instructional salaries are covered by such tuition.
Inclement
Weather
For
the sake of student safety, the administration at NCTC may occasionally
opt to cancel classes for a short period of time if inclement weather
poses significant hazards. Information about closures is traditionally
released to area media as quickly as possible and is posted on the
college website (www.nctc.edu) as well as the switchboard answering machine at (940) 668-7731.

Refund
Policy
Students
who submit a written request for withdrawal shall have their tuition
and fees refunded according to the following schedule:
In the event that the district cancels the course, 100% of tuition/fees will be refunded;
If a request for withdrawal is received, IN WRITING, from the student
one week (7 business days) prior to the first class meeting, 100%
of tuition/fees will be refunded;
Tuition and fees paid directly to the institution by a sponsor,
donor, employer, or scholarship shall be refunded based on the terms
stipulated by the funding source;
Refunds will not be issued under the following circumstances:
1) the request for withdrawal is received after the first class
meeting; 2) tickets or other materials were required to be pre-purchased
in order to deliver the course per stated learning outcomes; and
3) Tuition covers the comprehensive tuition for a long-term educational
track that mandates maintenance of a minimum number of students
and for which instructional salaries are covered by such tuition.

Tuition
Waivers
"Except
for the Hazlewood Act, which gives colleges an option, a college
CANNOT award exemptions and waivers for continuing education courses
for which the college does not receive formula funding (tax
support). If the course being taken is a continuing education
course, you must first determine whether it is state funded. If
so, the following exemptions and waivers may apply. If not,
exemptions and waivers may NOT be granted." This
statement is taken directly from Texas Education Agency Code, Section
54.545.
