General Education Diploma (GED)

During GED Preparation, you will concentrate on individualized study of upper level reading, writing and mathematics to prepare for the GED exams pertaining to social studies, science, reading and math. Enrollment is open to all individuals age 18 and older. Students who are 17 years of age may enroll with written parent/guardian permission and official documentation of withdrawal from last school attended. This is an open enrollment course, allowing you to begin skill upgrade at any time during the semester.   You will be required to work only on those subject proficiencies required to master the GED exam.   You may enroll in this course every semester ($65 each time) until you are prepared to tackle the exam.   A single textbook is highly recommended and available in the NCTC Bookstore (78 hours).

This course is designed for students whose primary language is other than English. The new fast-track format will provide intense vocabulary and phonics studies, oral and written exercises, and listening skills activities.
