Lifelong Learning Courses for the Little Elm Community
The NCTC Division of Lifelong Learning is pleased to offer for the first time a schedule of on-site classes for the Little Elm Community. Classes will be held at the Little Elm High School. Lifelong Learning offers non-credit continuing education opportunities for personal enrichment and workforce enhancement. Registration Procedures to register for a Little Elm Lifelong Learning class: No pre-admissions requirements are required for Lifelong Learning classes. Full payment of fee is required at time of registration. Call one of the Lifelong Learning offices to register:

REGISTER EARLY because classes are based on minimum enrollment and have enrollment limits. Classes are cancelled one week prior to start of class if minimum enrollment has not been received.

Auto Mechanics Made Easy
Don’t let your car intimidate you! This informative and entertaining class will give you hands-on practice on basic car care such as changing a tire, checking the battery, and other basic repairs that will save you money. Learn to speak and understand the language of auto repairs. Instructor: Tony Marino, DJCC Automotive Technology Instructor, ASF Certified Automotive Master Technician (3 hours)

Conversational Spanish -Intro I
Class is good for workforce communication. Develop conversational skills related to basic language acquisition, fundamental sentence structure and the use of present and immediate future tenses. You will gain knowledge on pronunciation, comprehension, and oral expression. No prior education in Spanish is required. (18 hours)

Floral Design
Learn how to make beautiful floral arrangements for personal or commercial possibilities. Work with silk and dried flowers to create centerpieces, corsages, wreaths and freestyle arrangements. The course will provide all the fundamentals of flower arranging. After completing both classes, students will have a full body of work for personal or commercial use. Students provide their own materials. Part I is a pre-requisite to Part II. Instructor: Mercedes Tejada (15 hours)

Basic Drawing
This fundamental class is designed to provide the foundation for other art mediums. You will learn how to create values, forms and fundamental strokes, practice perspective, draw cubic objects and create texture lines and strokes. The course is appropriate for beginning or intermediate students. Basic fundamentals of portrait drawing and calligraphy will also be introduced. Supply List: # 2 or HB Pencils, Magic rub eraser, 9x12 sketchbook, and 12 inch ruler. Instructor: Mark Parr (18 hours)

Basic Ceramics
Learn ceramic hand building techniques. The course introduces basic ceramic construction skills and emphasizes art theory and concepts as well as the functionality of the artwork produced. A $35 supply fee will be due the first night of class for clay and glaze; tool kit optional. Instructor: Tara Neff (18 hours)

Yoga and Meditation
Instruction to build strength, stamina, flexibility and tone while cultivating a sense of peace and well being; all levels welcome. No age limitations. Students bring their own mats. (18 hours)
