Angie BullardLADY LIONS VOLLEYBALL COACH |

As NCTC Head Volleyball Coach, Angie Bullard calls on successful career experiences as an athlete, student and high school coach. A graduate of Gunter High School, Bullard attended Paris Junior College on a full basketball scholarship, winning Academic All-American honors in 1989-90 and 1990-91. She transferred to Tarleton State University helping lead the TexAnns to the National Tournament and twice more achieving Academic All American status. As a senior, she was named TexAnn of the Year in recognition of her prowess on the court, in the classroom and as a student leader. Bullard earned bachelors of science and master's
of education degrees from TSU, graduating cum laude. As a TSU graduate
student, Bullard worked as the assistant womens basketball coach. After college, Bullard taught high school biology and
served as head coach in volleyball, softball, basketball and cross
country. In six years as a high school coach, she won several honors
and awards. The Waco Tribune Herald named her Volleyball Coach
of the Year after she coached Abbott to a 29-2 record, with both losses
to state tournament-bound teams. She was also named district coach
of the year in basketball and volleyball. She coached a high school
all-star basketball team to victory in the Lubbock Tournament. In her third year at NCTC, Coach Bullard is pushing
for continued team improvement. In Bullards first season, the
Lady Lions were ousted early in the regional tournament. In 2001-2002
her team bested New Mexico Military to reach the tournament semi-finals
before falling to Hill College, eventual participant in the national
tournament. Besides solid on-court performance, Bullard is proud of the Lady Lions academic record. The teams cumulative GPA last year was 3.32. We expect our players to perform on the court and in the classroom, says Bullard. When we recruit, we go after players we believe will excel as students as well as athletes. Outside coaching, Bullard enjoys athletics and outdoor activities including golf and horseback riding. She is married to Joe Bullard, a teacher and coach at Gainesville High School. Together, they have a 2-year-old daughter named Lindsey. |
