Even though NCTC’s locally elected Board of Regents strives
to keep tuition and fee costs low, we understand that it remains
difficult for many individual students and families to cover college
expenses. That’s one big reason why the work of our NCTC
Foundation is so vitally important.
Over the past academic year, the NCTC Foundation
awarded over 1,100 scholarships to students, a large number of whom would
not otherwise have
been able to enroll. That’s 1,100 lives made better through
higher education. To learn more about scholarship opportunities click - NCTC Scholarships.
That’s also a workforce made stronger by
better educated, better trained employees who increase productivity
and profitability
for their employers. That’s local economies made stronger
by citizens who have higher earning power and who need fewer costly
social services. It's a
wonderful start, but so many more students need assistance in covering
educational costs.
In addition to scholarships, your financial
support of North Central Texas College is extremely important
in many other ways. For example, costs of providing the latest
technology
and the most modern lab equipment for teaching continues to escalate.
Specialized facilities, such as those to house performing and
visual arts programs, is something the college simply cannot
afford without help. As a result, the college
must look to alternative, external sources of funding, including
private and corporate gifts.
To promote private and coporate support of the college, the NCTC
Foundation was incorporated in 1983 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity,
making
the contributions it receives tax deductible. Governed by a volunteer
board of directors (representative of the college’s three-county
service
area) the NCTC Foundation’s fundamental, long-term
goal is to build a strong endowment program to ensure quality education
and financial
stability for the college.
Gifts to the North Central Texas College Foundation may be outright,
in the form of real or personal property, stock, cash or pledges,
or deferred, by making NCTC Foundation the beneficiary of your
will, trust or life insurance. (Get more information about the
Randolph Lee Clark Bequest Society.) Gifts may be designated to
any of the following categories:
Scholarship Fund | Technology Fund
Faculty Development Fund
Scholarship Fund - Many students do not believe they can attend
college because of financial restraints. The NCTC Foundation and
community supporters help many of these students to attend college
and reach their career goals through the NCTC Foundation Scholarship
program. The Foundation’s scholarship program allows the
donors to determine the criteria for the scholarships. An endowed
scholarship of $12,500 allows the Foundation to award a $600 scholarship.
Donors may establish an endowed scholarship and pledge to make
contributions over a period of time until they reach endowment.
In addition, supporters can make a one-time contribution into the
General Academic Scholarship Fund.
Technology Fund – One of the most difficult
challenges facing North Central Texas College is keeping abreast
of the latest technological
developments in its classrooms and laboratories. Students must
be trained on the latest technology to be prepared to enter today’s
high-tech workforce.
Faculty Development Fund – The goal of this fund is the
development and preservation of the quality instruction for which
NCTC is known
and the continuance of ongoing opportunities for improved staff
support and professional development.
