Horticulture Scholarships
The NCTC
Agriculture Department offers several $1,000 Agriculture scholarships each year. The
scholarships are intended to recognize Agriculture students which possess
outstanding leadership qualities, communication skills, notable
personal character and those who demonstrate active community
involvement. The application form for these scholarships should be submitted to the NCTC Foundation Office
which will allow the applicant to be considered for all of the available
scholarships offered at NCTC in addition to the Agriculture
scholarships.

Cooke County Master Gardeners Scholarship
The
Cooke County Master Gardeners are active supporters of North Central
Texas College and its students. They have been instrumental in the
landscaping of the campus and the success of the college’s horticulture
program. They want to assist students interested in horticulture,
agriculture, and science related educational goals. Preference will be
given to a horticulture student or a student majoring in other
ag-related or science fields. Preference will be given to a student with
financial need. Student must have at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point
average. Scholarship award amount is $600 annually.

The Tom Harpool
Horticultural Scholarship was created to assist and encourage students
enrolled in the study of horticulture or other gardening-related
subjects. The $1000 scholarship is awarded annually to any Denton
County resident who is currently enrolled in a horticulture or related
major at any college or university. Under the direction of the Denton
County Master Gardener Association Scholarship Committee, all
applications are reviewed and the recipient selected. To raise money for
the scholarship fund, DCMGA members open their gardens for public
viewing and sell plants from their gardens. To apply for the
scholarship, complete the application and mail with proof of enrollment
and two letters of recommendation to DCMGA Scholarship Committee, c/o M.
Morrow, 306 N. Loop 288, Suite 222, Denton, TX 76209.

Sustainable LawnCare Leaders Scholarship
Applications accepted between February 12th and July 1st, 2013 (recipient selected July 22, 21013). $500 to an undergraduate student pursuing a career in sustainable horticulture, landscape architecture, or a related field. Applicants must be enrolled full-time and be citizens or legal residents of the United States. For more information and to apply, visit LawnCare.

The TNLA Education and
Research Foundation mission is "to advance in the broadest sense the
environmentally beneficial use of plants, and the interest to the
nursery/landscape industry in Texas, through funding education and
research". The scholarship foundation was created in 1992, awarding
scholarships in varying amounts.
